Title: Store Manager

Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000 annual DOE

Nirvana Soul is a Silicon Valley-based coffee company, with locations in Downtown San Jose and Main Street Cupertino, and a Roastery in North San Jose. Our mission is to bring people together through the power of coffee and tea. 

Team

This position joins a team of baristas, shift leads, and managers. The team creates joyful experiences, engages customers and delivers excellent service, takes precise orders and makes quality drinks, keeps the shops and all equipment clean and organized, and supports the overall growth of the company.

Role

The Store Manager reports to the Co-Founder & CEO of Nirvana Soul. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Store Managers uphold Nirvana Soul’s core values and are responsible for the complete day-to-day operations of the stores to ensure that employees work together effectively to make sales and contribute to shop upkeep. Their duties include communicating with vendors about inventory orders, scheduling employee shifts and training new employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train and assist employees in customer service, store maintenance, and product promos

  • Develop and maintain a schedule for employees that considers holidays and seasonal changes

  • Seek ways to better promote the store, the product line, and service within the store

  • Maintain proper inventory levels, ensure stocking, and implement purchasing plans

  • Manage all controllable costs with a view to maintaining profitability

  • Ensure the store remains clean and presentable at all times, and equipment is maintained

  • Hire, onboard, and train as needed to ensure adequate personnel is on hand at all times

  • Manage staff performance, including use of disciplinary action as needed

  • Oversee financial plans, budgets, and costs for store

  • Maintain energy, flow, cleanliness, and culture to Nirvana Soul standards

  • Ensure inventory and deliveries are processed, including milks, syrups, and other packages

  • Enforce daily task completion with shift leads and baristas

  • Make and serve delicious drinks, waffles, and pastries

  • Deliver personable and memorable customer service to all guests and vendors

  • Communicate with shift leads, managers, and teammates directly and respectfully

  • Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines

  • Technically skilled in basic retail computer systems, including related software

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a retail or customer service setting

  • Available to work a variety of hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and possible holidays

  • Ability to stand for an extended period of time, walk, reach, and bend to perform job duties

  • Ability to move and handle merchandise up to 40 pounds, and fixtures throughout the store

  • Be aware of and comply with all labor and employment laws applicable to employees

  • A current Manager Food Handlers certificate
