Meet the Roasters

Alex Egan (they/them) | Head Roaster

Alex balances science with the art of coffee roasting as the Head Roaster of Nirvana Soul Coffee. They have been in the coffee industry for over 10 years and still look forward to that morning cup. Alex has held positions from Barista to Management, but found their niche in roasting 5 years ago. They believe coffee is connective, and that sharing a coffee together can be transformative. While not at work, Alex spends their time visiting other coffee shops and traveling as much as possible.

Pris Chu (she/her) | Production Manager

Priscilla (Pris) is the Production Manager and Apprentice Roaster of Nirvana Soul Coffee. With six years of experience in the industry, Pris has worn many hats. A fun fact about her journey is the transformation from someone who once disliked coffee to becoming an avid enthusiast after discovering the art of espresso. This shift embodies the connection Pris has to the craft of coffee from roasting to cup.

In her free time, Pris finds solace in the soil, tending to fruit trees and herbs. Additionally, her creative spirit extends to the workshop, where she crafts and tinkers.

Public Tours

In-Person

60 minutes

Up to 12 guests

FREE

For groups smaller than 5 people, join us for a public roastery tour and cupping. We cup – or professionally coffee taste – regularly to select our coffees, train our team, and determine flavor notes. Every first Wednesday of the month, during our public cuppings, our roasting team will share several coffees with you to taste. After a quick explainer of each coffee, they’ll walk you step-by-step through the cupping process.

Each attendee will receive a personal bowl and spoon to use for the tasting per COVID-19 safety protocols. RSVP below to join us! (Events sell out at 12 guests.)
