Cheers to 2023!

Wow! Another year has come to an end, and we’re still here with you – and for you. We hope your holiday season went well and that you’re getting all the love, peace, and joy you deserve.

Like many, I get reflective and introspective at new years. For Nirvana Soul, 2022 was a year of growth. We expanded to Cupertino, which was one of the most remarkable moments of our journey so far. Having one shop was already a dream come true; having two just made that dream even bigger!

We also grew as a team and as leaders. Through change and challenge, we learned a ton about what it means to run a business, not just start a business. We worked through good times and not-so-good times together – and we are stronger and better for it.

As we look ahead to 2023, we’re excited to carry the lessons learned into another year. Just as we did back in 2018 when the idea of Nirvana Soul was pasted on our vision boards, Jeronica and I created a digital vision board of sorts to map out what great things this year will hold. And this time, we are so grateful to have input from Dap and Alex, and to be kept on track by Leti.

For the last couple of years, we’ve created Top 3s to help us prioritize and focus. Sometimes we achieve those goals (like opening our own roastery), and sometimes we fall short (like getting a coffee van).

This year, we created Top 3s across a few areas of the business with the entire leadership team for our 2023 list, which means more to do, yes, but more of us to get it done. Here are some of the things we’ll be working on:

  • Team leadership and coaching

  • Customer experience in-store and online

  • Internal and external coffee knowledge

  • Digital marketing across all channels

  • Creating a world-class roasting company

  • Financial accounting, forecasting, and reporting

This is certainly a lot of ground to cover, and it’s not even the full list. (Not to mention, it excludes our existing programs for art exhibitions, NS After Dark, and our plans for further expansion.) We like to do hard things. It’s kind of in our DNA. And all of this is our way of making an impact and continuing to show up for you.

So this year’s post is short and sweet. We can’t thank you enough for your unwavering support and belief in our mission. We’re still looking at each other everyday in awe that we’ve been able to create such an incredible community, an amazing team, two shops, one roastery, and so much more to come. We appreciate YOU!

Cheers to 2023!

-TTYS, b
